Oraimo has become Nigeria's most popular budget gadget brand, and the FreePods 4 at ₦20,000 is their flagship earbuds product. Are they actually good? We spent two weeks testing them in real Nigerian conditions.

Design and Build

The FreePods 4 look much more premium than their price suggests. The charging case is compact and fits easily in any pocket. The earbuds themselves have a stem design similar to AirPods. Build quality is solid — not premium, but definitely acceptable for the price.

Active Noise Cancellation

At this price point, we expected mediocre ANC. The FreePods 4 actually delivers 35dB noise reduction that works surprisingly well for blocking out background noise on commercial buses, in markets, and in busy Nigerian offices. It does not match the AirPods Pro 2 but for ₦20,000 it is genuinely impressive.

Call Quality

This is where the FreePods 4 genuinely excels. The 4-microphone ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) system makes calls crystal clear even in noisy environments. Multiple testers reported that call recipients could not tell they were using budget earbuds.

Battery Life

6 hours on a single charge, 24 hours total with the case. USB-C charging. This is competitive even with earbuds costing ten times more. The case charges in about 1.5 hours.

Sound Quality

For music listening, the FreePods 4 produces clear highs and acceptable mids but lacks bass depth. This is typical of earbuds at this price. For music, they are adequate but not exciting. For calls and podcasts, they are excellent.
